Making of The Butterfly Dream Poster

I made a poster for a friend of mine.

He is busy working on a opera called The butterfly dream which based on a story form a Noh stage (Traditional japanese stage) called Ground spider.


The Opera is his graduation performance and will be parfome on 19th September from 19.30 at Kees van Baarenzaal, Koninklijk Conservatorium


友人のオペラの為にアートワーク、タイトルとポスターをデザインをしました。

オペラのタイトルは「胡蝶の夢」能舞台の土蜘蛛という話を元にしています。

このオペラ９月１９日７時半からデンハーグのKees van Baarenzaal, Koninklijk Conservatoriumにて

This is my favorite leaf at this season
Normally leafs are sharp edges, but it got round edge
so must be nice one

こうすると押しやすい、日本だったら将棋の駒かな

Making of BoxXshop Poster

My friend who runs Nest project ask me to
participate an event in Amsterdam

The event is call BoxXshop Calls for arts & Crafts
It is one day cerebration of artist and craft
All artists own one part of book shelf to have own shop
to sell their work in Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam
And It will be around 30 artists

My first action as participant is to create a poster for the event

ネストプロジェクトを運営する友人が年末に彼女が主催するアムステルダムでのイベントに参加しないかと声をかけて来た

イベントの名前はBoxXshop Calls for arts & Crafts
ロイドホテルでアーティストが棚をレンタルし一日お店をもつというもの、だいたい３０人ぐらいのアーティストが集まるのでその日はきっとアーティストのお祭りの様に楽しい空間になるんじゃないかな

最初のアクションとして、イベント告知のポスターをデザインしました

These are the all stamps I used to create

One on my favorite stamp called Saito-kun, named by my wife

This is the artwork before scan into computer

The idea is that a lot of fun things comes out from the box

This flower created sometimes ago and it's inspired by a flower hydrangea

I often get compliment for this birds

And this is before I make into Black and white

This stamp is for my neighbor of a friend as a present.

One day I was walking with my son as my new habit in a weekend and suddenly I thought about visit my neighbor so I walked by and she was just arrive at home from a shopping when I stand in front of the door and told me "I was thinking about visit you today" 

Somehow people thought about me before I visit without any appointment, so of course they don't know my plan but things like this happen quite often these days… Anyway she ask me to create a stamp for her friend of birthday present.

My neighbor and her friend both lost the husband in the past and that makes them very close friend.

And she showed me a letter from the friend with her original sign on it  which has a initial of the husband with a heart in the middle of a cloud, beautiful.

「近所に住む友達の友人の為のスタンプ」

最近の日課でバギーで佑生と散歩してると、ふと近所に住む友人ビルマの事を思いだしたので寄って行く事に、ドアをノックすると後ろから僕を呼ぶ声が、そこにはちょうど買い物から帰ってきたビルマが立っていた。

荷物を運び込むのを手伝い佑生と家に入ると「じつは今日私が会いに行こうと思ってたの」と言われた。話が変わるけどこのごろ誰かにあいに行くとよくこう言われる、どういう訳だか僕が訪れる前になぜか必ず僕の事を考えているのだ。そしてビルマは「実は私の友人の為にスタンプを作って欲しいんだけど」と言ってその友人からもらった手紙を持ってきた。

ビルマとその友人は旦那さんを亡くしていて、そのせいでとても近い友人関係なのだと説明してくれた、そしてその手紙の最後には彼女が作ったサインが書いてある。旦那さんのイニシャルが雲の上に、そして中にハートが書いてある、これをハンコにして欲しいとの事、素敵なプレゼントだ。

She told me a story about Growth and Gain that it start with single believe  and form it can grow wherever you interesting like a tree.

彼女は成長する事について話してくれました、中心に信じるものがあり、そこから四方八方へ分野を広げて行く

それは一つの種からどこまでも興味がある方向へ枝がのびて行く様な感じです

Happy new YAHOO

Always Sometime I misspell
Especially when I make a drawing.

I made "Happy new YAHOO" but don't ask me why, only thing I can say is that first I want to make "Happy new year" but when I draw A instead of e, I needed to came up something else, so

Happy new YAHOO ってなんですか？って聞かないで下さい、僕にも分かりません。

本当は、Happy new year だったんですが、e を A と間違え何か別の文章を考えるはめになりました。

Lately I'm creating a graphic
made by some stamps.
I think it always good to think the best,,,

このところスタンプで

グラフィックを制作しています。

「最良を尽くす」とでも訳すのでしょうか。

Happy mother

This is a stamp as a little present for a mother who is friend of my wife.

The friend saw me some picture of her, very creative and
funny portrait of herself, and she did everything by herself.

Very creative person and love sending letter to friends, so
we thought nice to give a stamp she can use in the ending of the letter.

嫁の友人のお母様の為のスタンプ。

お母様にプレゼントして喜ばせてあげたいと友人は、参考にお母様の
写った写真を二枚見せてくれました。とても楽しい創作的な印象。

手紙を書かれるのがお好きだということで、手紙の最後に押せる様な
スタンプを考える事にしました。

The stamp is her face with out mouth and eyebrow.

The idea is that she can express how she feels about by adding

what missing how she feel in a day.

このスタンプには眉毛と口がついていません。

その日がどんな気持ちだったか、たりない部分を足す事で

その気分を表現する事が出来ます。

Hina

This is for a present for a friend of friend of my wife.

The friend is a composer for classic music.

We thought nice to create her logo which can use in her score (a music book)

嫁の友人から友人へのプレゼントの為のスタンプ。

その友人はクラシック音楽の作曲者です。

そこで、楽譜に押して使える様なロゴのスタンプを

プレゼントに渡したいとこの事でした。

And a little detail is few dots in above n and a.

It a diacritical mark in the classic age.

細かい所ですが n と a の上にあるいくつかの四角い点。

これはゴミではありません、ネウマ譜といって友人が作曲している

音楽と同じ頃に使用されていたものだそうです。

Music of god

This is for a friend of my wife.

She beautifully play a pipe organ and have some concerts in Europe.

I have to say that a pipe organ is not a instrument that I knew.
Once we are at old church in Amsterdam listening her organ and we actually
started to sleep, because beautiful tone and rhythm bring you in to a sleep but
we still listen the music! I think it type of meditation the music brought to...

嫁の友人の為のスタンプ。

彼女はとても美しい音を奏でるパイプオルガニストです。

パイプオルガンとはとても特別な楽器で、僕が知っている楽器とは
少しなにかが違っていると思います。

以前、アムステルダムまで彼女のコンサートに行った事がありました。
演奏が始まったとたん、嫁と僕は心地の良い眠りに誘われ、
そのまま眠ってしまいました。ただ、オルガンの音は睡眠の中でも
しっかりと聞こえてきていました。あの睡眠の様な状態はある種の
瞑想の様な状態だったんじゃないかと思います。

神様の音ですね。

スタンプはもちろんパイプオルガンを演奏する姿です。

Wedding

This stamp is for my colleague.

She told me during a meeting that she will get married,

I was so happy to hear so I wanted to give something and 

I thought nice to have a wedding stamp.

Did you notice the flags in the stamp?

English woman got married with Greek guy in Holland.

同僚の為のスタンプ。

ミーティングの際に彼女は結婚するという話を聞かせてくれました。

すごくうれしい知らせだったので、何かしたいなと思い

結婚記念のハンコを作る事しました。

イギリス人の女性がギリシャ人の男性とオランダで結婚します。
